Description

Axarquía region, a land marked by the ancestral imprint of so many dedicated farmers. Agricultural tradition and its vernacular architecture lead us to resolve this project by looking to the past.

From it, forms, strategies and gestures are learned which, when applied to the use and distribution of this building, guide us to the result. A building of 1125 m² divided into four large spaces intended for the storage of products and tools from the agricultural world, where raw materials can be handled and cared for until their sale. The volumetry clearly reflects those traditional forms that appear in certain areas of the landscape, so that through this learning issues such as roof water drainage, the organization of uses in the different naves sectioned by porticoes, and the aesthetic reading of the materials used on their façades are resolved. An element from the modern era is introduced on the façade—polycarbonate—also very present in some agricultural constructions such as greenhouses, allowing light to pass through while waterproofing the building from the exterior.

A pictorial gesture frames a certain interior area of the nave, generating a colorful, light-filled point that captures our attention and gives joy and dynamism to the interior activity.

A cathedral of light intended to house the raw material that comes from the earth, a space of worship dedicated to the countryside.
