Description

La Planta Baja Compartida proposes understanding the street as a cooperative, changing and deeply domestic space: a place belonging to everyone. The project is articulated as a ten-year strategy, deployed through progressive, open and reversible phases that make it possible to adapt to new urban rituals and to the needs of citizens.

The first phase activates a collective platform in the streets and parks of Logroño: lightweight, dismantlable and reused infrastructures—a landmark tower, a kiosk, domestic-scale urban artifacts—accompanied by a program of events that turns the street into a space of continuous encounter. The Concéntrico festival works as a material and cultural quarry within the proposal, extending the life of its ephemeral pavilions through participatory processes of transformation.

The following phases deepen renaturalization, the reuse of empty ground-floor premises, and the creation of new urban rituals. The park ceases to be a place of passage and becomes a sequence of rooms; the street is re-scaled through vegetation, shade, play and urban acupuncture that encourage staying. Gradually, mobility is reconsidered, the limits between inside and outside, public and private are reduced, and public interiors linked to neighborhood life are consolidated.

Throughout the process, the artifacts are transformed, dismantled and reconfigured: they acquire second and third lives. The city is understood as a reactive laboratory where nothing is destroyed without first attempting to be transformed.

After ten years, the proposal culminates in a collective reevaluation: measuring achievements, adjusting strategies and consolidating a greener, more inclusive and more domestic urban landscape. The street as a shared garden and as a public stage. The street as opportunity.
